Potholes fixed

Ideas on what to do to attract more people that wish to live in Bruderheim

By Walter Schneider

Words put to action

I was May 27 or 28, 2005 (sorry, but I didn't keep track that closely) that the town crew fixed the back alley running from 49th Ave to 50th Ave between 50th and 51st St. It seems that it took them a little more than a couple of hours to be done with that.

Great job, guys, and well done!

It wasn't much of an effort for Ruth and me to clean the gravel off the road, off the sidewalks and off the grass at the sides of the alley it got spilled on after the grading was done.  That took no more than about an hour.  It seemed a good idea to get rid of the gravel on the grass.  It will be much safer to have those rocks off the grass, just in case someone wishes to cut the grass and doesn't want to hurt anyone or break any windows.  Besides, if an accident should happen on account of those rocks that were left on the grass, would the town be liable for damages?  If so, the Town's insurance rates would then very likely increase, and so would our taxes.

At any rate, the alley looks a lot better now, and the potholes are gone.
