Bruderheim Residents Committee

Ideas on what to do to attract more people that wish to live in Bruderheim

Bruderheim Residents Committee

A few Bruderheim residents established a residents committee for communicating concerns to our town council.

It is hoped that the residents committee will be able to prepare a list of issues, with a short description of each, pertaining to Bruderheim, that are of general concern to Bruderheim residents.

A very short presentation will be put together, to be presented at the June 15, 2005 Town Council meeting.  The committee will only have a total of half an hour for presenting the list of concerns and discussing it at the June 15th Town Council meeting.  However, by formally presenting the list of concerns at that meeting we can ensure that all of the concerns on the list will be on the agenda for future Town Council meetings, and that progress with resolving them can and will be tracked.

If anyone wishes to participate, he must be ready and willing to be present at the June 15th-, and future, Town Council meetings.

A tentative list of concerns for presentation to Town Council

  • Lack of compliance with bylaws relating to "Unsightly Premises";
  • Lack of compliance with bylaws relating to dog control;
  • General lack of bylaw enforcement;
  • Frost heaves in pavement;
  • Lack of compliance with bylaws relating to grass cutting and weed control on town properties;
  • Raiding of gardens;
  • Lack of compliance with bylaws relating to disposal of refuse in temporary containers;
  • Vegetation and silt build-up in, and lack of maintenance of, drainage ditches;
  • Vandalism and graffiti; and
  • Domestic violence is not a gender issue.  Men and women alike fall victim to it.  Yet, the contact page at the Town of Bruderheim website contains no pointers to sources of help for men that became victims of domestic violence.
  • Much-needed edits to the website operated by the Town of Bruderheim

If you are a resident in the Town of Bruderheim and have similar concerns that you feel should be added to the preceding list, consider that by participating in the Residents Committee you have a good chance that your concern will be presented to Town Council and will attract the Town Council's attention.

There will be no charges for being a committee member.

If you wish to have your concerns added to the preceding list, or if you wish to become a member of the Residents Committee, e-mail, call, or visit Walter Schneider (Tel.: 796-2306), or call or visit Leo Genier (Tel.: 796-3361).

Thanks for your interest, and expecting your participation,

Leo Genier and Walter Schneider
